Our Story
The Owners of Thailand Doodles
Hello! We are Kanokporn & Craig Youse, and we live in Phuket Thailand where we enjoy sailing, playing beach volleyball, and playing with friends and our small family of dogs at the beach. We are both outgoing people and through our dog business, we have been able to make many new friends, an unexpected, but greatly welcomed benefit of our business.
Kanokporn (aka Bitoie) comes from a big family in Udon Thani, with 12 aunts & uncles and scores of cousins, many of whom help us run our dog business. Thanks to Bitoie’s extensive network of friends and family members throughout the country, we are able to ethically source, breed and deliver many different breeds of puppies to our customers all over Thailand.
Craig is from the United States where he bought his first Doodle in 1974; a cream colored Cockapoo named Misty. He worked as a sourcing & product development executive in China and S.E. Asia for over 30 years, during which time he travelled many times to Thailand. Now he spends most of his time cleaning up dog poop, and fixing everything that the puppies destroy in the yard.
Initially Golden Retriever Breeders
We started out as Golden Retriever breeders in both Phuket & Udon Thani Thailand. In fact, we continue to breed and sell pure bred Golden Retrievers via our Phuket Goldens & Thailand Golden Retrievers websites, where we sell both champion bloodline, and more affordable (pet quality) puppies and dogs..
Truth be told, Golden Retrievers are still our favorite breed of dogs, but we also know from experience that they are not the right kind of dog for everyone. They shed a lot, and they are not suitable for homes, condos, or apartments that don't have a large yard/garden; which makes them not the best dog for most people in Thailand.
Our second favorite breed of dog is labrador retrievers but, same problem there! We also love Border Collies: but they are even more of a problem for people with no gardens or for people that have pet allergies.
Go Big or Go Home!
In order to help our customers that wanted/needed a smaller dog or a hypoallergenic dog, we created Thailand Puppies in 2021, and then enlisted as many friends and relatives in Thailand as we could to help us breed some of the other most popular breeds of dogs. We still operate this business with the help of our family members and close friends.
We are even contemplating expanding the business (if we can find the right partners) to more than just dogs (see: Thailand Pets), but that’s still a work in progress and the topic of another discussion.
After receiving many requests from our "Farang" customers for Goldendoodle and other “designer” puppies, we finally decided to bite the bullet, and begin breeding "Doodles." Thanks in advance for your support as we embark upon this new (for us) adventure.
Like many dog breeders in the EU, UK, USA, Australia and other Western countries, we've learned that cross breeding some of our favorite breeds of working dogs, with a small poodle, makes them more suited to life in today's urban and suburban settings. And truth be told, it also makes them a bit more adorable.
